Hugh Dennis judges at West Sussex Performing Shakespeare regional final
The Performing Shakespeare regional final in Chichester, saw seventeen performances with two winners being chosen to attend the grand final in London.
Bath branch: My marsh winner announced
The competition tasked young people with reviewing their favourite title on the shortlist for this year’s Marsh Award for Children’s Literature in Translation. The winner, Brionie reviewed Bronze and Sunflower, authored by Cao Wenxuan and translated by Helen Wang, published by Walker Books.
Peter Hennessey's Joyce Rolf lecture: Brighton
Lord Hennessey of Nympsfield delivered the 2016 Joyce Rolf memorial lecture. His subject “The Kingdom to Come” focused on the challenges facing the United Kingdom after the Brexit vote and the Scottish referendum on independence.

Pershore High School's Success in Worcester branch Public Speaking Competition
After a hard-fought competition the winners of the Public Speaking Competition were Pershore High School, and the runners-up were Bromsgrove School. There was a very high standard of research, presentation and articulate speaking throughout the competition.
